Capital Campaigns
TLC’s Ministry Approach is very evident in its Scriptural Funding Campaign (SFC), which is conducted from the perspective of engaging the church’s disciples into its ministry while helping them to consider a structured opportunity for service, mentoring of its leaders, and determining their commitment to give at a sacrificial level to fund the facility needs of the church. TLC’s theme for its capital campaign consulting services is Developing More Responsive Stewardship Disciples.
Most people think giving is primarily a financial issue. We understand that giving starts in the heart, not in the checkbook. So we have looked at what motivates the heart to give. At TLC, we address attitude and stewardship issues with experience, understanding, sensitivity, a scriptural foundation, and treating people with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
We also understand it will take a higher motivation for people to change their spending and giving habits to allow them to give at a level that is sacrificial for them. It takes more than a suggestion and a request – it takes a change of motivation, a change of engagement, a change of heart, a change of lifestyle, and a change of vision. TLC’s Ministry Approach is designed to facilitate those changes.
Vision Defining Retreat
The Vision Defining Retreat (VDR) is a dedicated weekend where church leaders meet under the guidance of a trained Facilitator to refine, hone, and develop the mission, vision, and values of the church. It is sandwiched between a couple of months of preparation for it, and a couple of months following it to apply it to the church’s situation. It is customized for each church according to its unique situation, circumstances, and distinctives. The theme of the VDR is to Develop the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Church, and the People’s Ownership of Them.
