Major Tracks of the Scriptural Funding Campaign

TLC’s Scriptural Funding Campaign is designed to encompass the scope of dynamics that make for a successful fund raising venture in your church. This includes the spiritual factors that are significant to resolving attitude and stewards issues of the heart that have such a major impact upon both how and why people intend to give.

This campaign has the potential of helping believers to face the Lordship claims of Jesus in a very practical way. Too often those claims of our Lord are avoided and believers muddle around in a kind of tug-of-war over their giving as if they have the final say in what and how they give. If Christ is our Lord, then we should not be struggling over who owns what He has given us to work with – it all belongs to Him even if our name happens to be on it!

TLC’s Scriptural Funding Campaign is a major factor in helping people to work their way through this contest of wills over who owns us and our stuff – does God own it or do we still think we own it? To this end, TLC’s Scriptural Funding Campaign has four major tracks that will crisscross each other continually throughout the campaign. They include:

Vision Development
Keeping the church’s vision for its ministry front and center in the campaign, and the current building project positioned as a way to help fulfill that vision;

Raise Maximum Funds
A challenge without an opportunity to do something about it is counter-productive, so we ask people to consider giving something that is sacrificial for their family, knowing that sacrificial givers will give more than generous givers;

Serving and Disciple Making
TLC’s objective is to ask nearly every active church family to serve somewhere on one of the campaign teams where they learn to work together and become dependent upon each other, which develops ownership and unity; and

Positive Relational Dynamics
Everything in the campaign is approached from a positive perspective (no negatives, undue pressure, or guilt trips) so people will enjoy working together on such a large project, and have very positive “feeling tones” toward the process we used along the way.
