The campaign is divided into three primary phases, with several specific but overlapping periods:
1) The Preparation Phase
The Preparation phase is the time from the beginning of the church’s official relationship with TLC until the beginning of the Commitment Phase. It varies in length depending upon the church’s circumstances and preparedness for their campaign, but an approximate period of two months is typical. The TLC Stewardship Consultant will meet with the church leaders on-site to calendar and customize the campaign, and to prepare the church for its initiation.
2) The Commitment Phase
The commitment phase is the primary time when church people are involved in the various aspects of the campaign, and work together on their individual Teams to accomplish their specific tasks. The TLC Stewardship Consultant will be involved extensively during this time. It is also the time when people work their way through the “Stewardship Journey” process to determine what they intend to give. It will start with an official “Campaign Launch” presentation by TLC’s Stewardship Consultant, and conclude three to four months later with a Firstfruits Sunday celebration, which is the transition point of the campaign to its three year giving phase.
3) The Giving Phase
The Giving Phase normally lasts three years following Firstfruits Sunday. During this time the TLC Consultant will work with the Follow-Up Team to design and implement a long-term approach that will lead the church to maintain momentum in people’s giving as they fulfill their commitments, as well as to encourage the involvement of any families that are new to the church. The TLC Stewardship Consultant will be the church’s resource person for all three years, and is available for return trips to the church as are appropriate.
